Tokyo is the capital city of Japan and one of the most populated cities in the world.
The city is the center of everything in Japan: politics, economy, administration, education, culture, industry, fashion, and transportation.
Tokyo covers an area of 2,162 square kilometers and forms a large metropolitan area along with three prefectures: Chiba, Kanagawa, and Saitama.
The current population is about 12 million (equivalent to one-tenth of the total Japanese population).

Important notes

  • The monthly rent for a small apartment near the center: $700-1000
  • Meals, transportations, and other costs: $300-600/mo.
  • 1 guest room on the 2nd floor of the center (short-term stay possible)
